WJHS STUDENTS SKYPE WITH MICROSOFT EXECUTIVE

A group of Whitehouse Junior High School 8th grade students were given the opportunity to participate in some career exploration when Mr. Goodson's Technology Applications students used Skype to talk with Gavin Benedict, a programmer who writes code for Microsoft.

The sessions began with a short biography in which Benedict described how his career path led to Microsoft. The floor was then opened to students’ questions. The questions ranged from serious, such as "How does someone get started with computer programing?" to silly, including "What was your most embarrassing moment?" Goodson stated that the entire experience was very positive and that students will have additional opportunities to talk with other professionals in the future.
